Kappa Sigma Tau Man of the Year, 2012

"Rick" Warren, Jr. (Tau '78), venture capitalist, philanthropist, and world-traveling outdoor sportsman, built and expanded his family's business of Caterpillar dealerships throughout Northwest and West Texas, leading West Texas Cat through nine consecutive years of growth as its president.

In 1990 Warren moved the headquarters from Amarillo to Midland to take a key management position in another family-owned business, Compressor Systems, Inc., (CSI), now an industry leader in all phases of gas compression. In 1999 he moved to Austin and, among other pursuits, enjoyed a successful career as a professional day trader.

Warren graduated from the University of Texas in 1981 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. In 2010, he was the recipient of the Frank C. Erwin award for his outstanding service to the Tau Chapter. He currently serves as President of the Texas Kappa Sigma Educational Foundation.
